Healing Art

Healing Art is a therapeutic program for women at DWCF that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This program is designed to help justice-involved women:

  • Resolve unaddressed issues and manage behavior

  • Help deal with difficult emotions

  • Reduce stress

  • Assist with depression and grief

  • Improve self-esteem and awareness

  • Connect in healthy relationships

Healing art is not a class, and we do not require that our participants know how to draw or paint. It simply requires a commitment to themselves, an openness to professional self-expression, participation in creative activities, and completion of LifeWork exercises between sessions.
